Requiescant in paceWith regret we must advise that Felix Britt-Compton (Douglass 1927-33) (pictured right) died on 16 June 2009 at the age of 94. Felix was the brother of Canon Denis Britt-Compton, Headmaster between 1949 and 1968, and the father of Christopher (1959-68) and the late Peter (1961-71).
We must also record the death of Paul Knight (St Hugh's & Challoner 1946-55) on 27 June 2009 at the age of 69. He was the brother of Christopher (1951-61) and the late James (1946-55).

Between the mid-1970s and early 1980s, the Headmaster Fr Michael Garvey led pilgrimages travelling by "jumbulance" to Lourdes. Click here to see some photographs from that time. We are grateful to Sister Ann Purcell for donating them to the College archives.

Nostalgia This photograph is believed to have been taken in June 1961 and shows a cut-down Daimler owned by the St Edmund's College Motor & Engineering Club (SECMEC), which was run by Fr Peter Bourne.
Who are they and what are they celebrating with the Union Jack and beer bottles?

Appeal for old sports team photographs
We are attempting to compile a complete set of all the sport team photographs taken. This exercise has never before been undertaken, and we are appealing for your help because the College archives currently only contain a fraction of all the images. As well as attempting to complete the set, we will be digitizing the images so that back-up copies can be stored safely and so that some of the older pictures can be made available to OEs or family history researchers.

Appeal for old House photographs
We are compiling a complete set of all the House photographs taken since the House system was established at the College in 1922. This exercise has never before been undertaken, and we are appealing for your help because the College archives currently only contain about a third of all the images. As well as attempting to complete the set, we will be digitizing the images so that back-up copies can be stored safely and so that some of the older pictures can be made available to OEs or family history researchers.
